Commodity Indices

Aggregate index tracking, built on the same master-and-observation split the commodities use. The master is complete. The World Bank indices are read from the World Bank at build time — monthly, annual and annual-real, switchable below; the FAO indices are read from the published Food Price Index release the same way. Entering a value by hand is reserved for indices the platform does not yet fetch.

Where each figure below came from

Every figure carries the publisher named against it, and every one is fetched. The World Bank indices are read from the World Bank at build time; the FAO indices are read from the published Food Price Index release the same way. Entering a value by hand at /admin/indices is reserved for an index the platform does not yet fetch, and records the name of whoever entered it.

A period with no row against a fetched index is a period the last ingest did not carry — not a period nobody got round to typing.

You are looking at the monthly, nominal cut. The World Bank publishes each of its indices three ways and they are different series, not one series rescaled: switching the controls below reads a different published table rather than converting the figures on screen. An index that reads Not published at this cut has none — the base period column moves with the basis, so a real level is never shown under a nominal base.
